Harris Hill Firefighters honored Past-President Garry Soehner for 50 years of service tonight. Garry is only the 3rd member to achieve this accomplishment, joining members Steve Bucki and Walter Schott.
Tonight our members participated in a mental health awareness drill lead by Erie County Emergency Services Chaplain Steve Beigner. Members learned the resources available to them if it’s ever needed and also the awareness of concerning signs and symptoms of fellow members.
Congratulations to firefighter Bobby Geary on recently passing his EMT-Basic exam. With Bobby successfully passing his exam, Harris Hill currently has 24 emergency medical technicians and 4 certified first responders!
This afternoon firefighters took a second to gather with their families and enjoy the beautiful weather. We were fortunate enough to spend time together at our annual family picnic. Firefighters enjoyed a day of food, friends, family and games.

The WNY EMS Community lost a legend. Karen Eleczko aka “Trauma Mama” passed away after recent declines in her health. Her expertise reached far and wide over the area and as a result the countless lives saved through her training.
On July 10, 2022, 8-year-old Emily Fritzinger was in her backyard when she found her aunt suffering from a medical emergency and was under water in their pool. Emily alerted her family members, who in turn called 911 and rescued her aunt from the pool.
